Apple in the Big Apple: new iPad Pro and Macbook Air!

Apple in the Big Apple: new iPad Pro and Macbook Air!

New devices before the new year!

The California tech-giant surprised us all with another Special Event just before the holiday season! A lot of speculation came in with what new devices will be up for grabs… Say hello to the new Macbook Air,  iPad Pro and Mac Mini for 2018!

iPad Pro … well, actually 2!

We’ve got not 1 but 2 new iPad Pros! Apple stepped it up a notch (without a literal one) for the 2 new tablets 😉 You can choose from an 11-in iPad Pro with Liquid Retina Display and 2388-by-1688-pixel resolution at 264 pixels per inch., or the 12.9-in at 2732-by-2048-pixel resolution at 264 pixels per inch.

Both have Apple’s signature True Tone Display and 600 nits brightness. Without a home button, it’s not surprising that this doesn’t have Touch ID, but Apple makes up for it with the addition of Face ID!! What shocked others may be that the tablets are now by powered by a USB-C port and the headphone jack has disappeared!

One cool feature: the new iPad Pro pencil can magnetically connect and charge to the tablets (and it’s 5.9mm thinner). But the price is not so slim at all: with the smaller starting at $799 while the larger sibling starts at $999 with Wi-Fi only specs. With such a high cost, it would be terrible if something were to damage your new investment. Larger screens mean more chances for scratches and cracks, so a premium screen protector is KEY!! Don’t worry, we’ve go you covered with our signature ballistic glass!

Pre-order your screen protector by 11/7 and you can get 30% OFF using the Amazon Coupon!

Macbook Air

Air taken to another level. It’s lighter than its predecessor by 25% as this laptop is 2.75lb light and 15.6mm thin. Instead of Face ID, Apple made the surprising reveal that the Touch ID is placed on this laptop for additional security.

This also sports a 13.3-inch Retina Display with 2560-by-1600 native resolution at 227 pixels per inch and a 16:10 aspect ratio. Its Force Touch Trackpad is also 20% larger for better control and navigation.

Instead of a Lightning Cable, this will be connected with a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C). Price starts at $1199 and will be available by November 7. To get yours, you can check out Apple’s website now!

Mac Mini

After a long wait for most, we’ve got a new Mac Mini with a lot of new specs! It’s packed with the new eighth-generation quad-core and 6-core processors and can be connected with the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C), HDMI 2.0 and USB 3.

Storage starts at 128GB and can be configured up to 2TB SSD. While price starts at $799. Same with the Macbook Air, it will be available by November 7. Order yours here!

That’s for this event’s roundup! Have you decided which devices to get?

Stay tuned on our website and Amazon Storefront Page as we might have something in store for the new iPad Pros and the new Macbook Air. Always better to be safe than sorry! Especially with something that’s as expensive as Apple products! 😉

iPhone XR: Saving the Best for Last?

iPhone XR: saving the best for last?

One more iPhone is on its way to stores! The iPhone XR is ready to roll…

During the Apple launch last month, the California tech-giant introduced 3 phones with the third, the iPhone XR, to be released at a later date. And that later date is fast approaching! With pre-orders underway on October 19 and a launch date of October 26, we’re all set to try out the final installment of Apple’s iPhone rollout this fall.

Still wondering if the iPhone XR is the best model for your needs? Let’s get the rundown going!

Here’s how the 3 iPhone models stack up:

Device iPhone XR iPhone XS iPhone XS Max
Display 6.1-in Liquid Retina (LCD) HD display 5.8-in Super Retina (OLED) HD display 6.5-in Super Retina (OLED) HD display
Pixel Resolution 1792×828 pixel resolution at 326 ppi 2436×1125 pixel resolution at 569 ppi 2688×1242 pixel resolution at 458 ppi
True Tone Yes
Chip A12 Bionic Chip
Camera Rear: 12 MP

Front: 7MP TrueDepth

Rear: Dual 12 MP cameras

Front: 7MP TrueDepth

Notable Camera Features All-new Depth Control, Portrait Lighting
Face ID Yes
Colors Yellow, Coral, White, Black, Blue, (Product) Red Gold, Space Gray, Silver
SIM Card Dual SIM (nano-SIM and eSIM only)

While the phone may not be here yet, some reviewers got their hands on one and offered some first impression notes on the device! Let’s check out some of their thoughts…

  • The Verge’s Nilay Patel first impression review predicts that the variety of colors will sell the iPhone XR over the XS with (Product) Red as the best and striking color. Plus, it has portrait mode even with just single lens unlike last year this mode was exclusive to those with dual lens or the iPhone X.

  • Engadget sees quite a full premium smartphone without shelling out a huge $1,000. The iPhone XR was somehow able to combine the perks of the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone 10. Though some were sacrificed like the display or aluminum finish to keep the cost down.
  • CNET’s Scott Stein says the iPhone XR is still worth considering as it has the biggest LCD screen among the 3 for those who prefer that; it’s powered by the same A2 Bionic processor chip as the 2 XS devices and it sports Face ID.
  • TechRadar’s Gareth Beavis initially feels this device is chunkier which can be quite a con for some. For camera fanatics, one rear camera may not be enough.

Swayed to buy one?

Awesome! You can check out Apple’s page on how to get the iPhone XR (if you haven’t ordered one yet). Then you can browse our website or our Amazon Storefront to pre-order protection for your new device! As always, Tech Armor will always have you covered! 😉

Google Pixel 3 / 3XL : ready to pre-order?

Google Pixel 3 / 3XL : ready to preorder?

Officially announced at the #MadeByGoogle event

Another tech-giant releases new devices! Yes folks we’ve got new Google Pixel 3 devices plus lots of other announcements too!

Thinking of switching to one of the newest Pixel phones? We’ve got a rundown of the info you may need to decide on the swap. And a review or two to help you out 😉

Let’s start with the specs:

Display and phone size is what mostly sets these siblings apart. The Google Pixel 3 sports a 5.5-inch FHD+ flexible OLED display with 443ppi. While the Pixel 3 XL has a 6.3-inch QHD+ OLED display with 523ppi. Plus, different aspect ratios too with 18:9 and 18.5:9 respectively. Oh and notch-wise…only the XL has one!

Both devices show full 24-bits depth or 16.77 million colors, true black level, 100,000:1 super contrast ratio and Always-on Display to name a few. As for their popular cameras, the rear camera is 12.2MP dual-pixel while their dual front cameras have 8MP wide-angle and normal FoV cameras for ultra-crips, wide selfies!

The Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip and have 4GB RAM. Colors available are Clearly White, Just Black and Not Pink.

Their software also has tricks in their sleeve worth checking out! Their famous camera may have just gotten better with the help of AI which was highlighted during their eventNotable camera features are Top Shot where the AI will choose the best moment to take the picture, Night Sight where low-light will adjust to get that clear shot without flash and Super Res Zoom where you can say goodbye to pixelated photos even after zooming.

It’ll be available with 64GB/128GB storage options and will cost $799/$899 and $899/$999 correspondingly. You can preorder now while it will arrive on October 18 in the US. Several other countries will get it November 1.

Now for initial hands on reviews…

YouTube Reviewer Marques Brownlee says the devices are a bit heavier as it’s all glass now but does feel premium on the hand. The notch in the XL is quite taller than other devices (for the 2 front facing cameras and speaker) and a chin (for another speaker too). The features are great but still have to check if it’s worth it.

Engadget’s Chris Velazco thoughts on the new devices are quite similar even at the functional level and utilitarian design. Plus the tech giant pushed the levels to machine level and software features which showed surprisingly well photos. Plus has the best camera used all year round.

Tech Radar’s Matt Swider has a bit of concern on the Pixel 3 for the 4GB RAM which is quite smaller than most phones we have today. (Tech Armor can help with that!) While colleague John McCann says a con for the bigger sibling is the design’s a bit old.

Bonus: Made by Google also released 2 other new devices for that 360 degree experience. One is the Google Home Hub that is focused on managing your home with connected devices. The other is the Pixel Slate: a handy device fusing a tablet and laptop that you can use for work and play that has a Titan Security chip for data security and a massive 12.3 inch screen! Stay tuned as we’re in development for a screen protector that covers the Pixel Slate very soon.

That’s it for the #MadeByGoogle devices! Decided to go with Team Google?

LG V40 ThinQ: your next phone?

LG V40 ThinQ: your next phone?

It’s officially here folks! With an interesting feature too!

Yes folks, LG recently announced its new phone, the LG V40 ThinQ with one interesting twist: 5 cameras. You read that right… 5 cameras in one device!! Plus other upgrades were introduced too. Could this be the device you’ve been waiting for? Read on for more info!

Let’s go first with the specs:

First off, the LG V40 ThinQ has a 6.4” QHD+ OLED FullVision Display and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It’s got a notch too by the way. While the breakdown of the cameras are 3 at the back while 2 on the front.

The 3 rear cameras shoot at the same time with the following photos: standard, telephoto zoom and super wide-angle.

While the front shoots 2 selfie photos at the same time: standard and wide (mostly for a huge group photos)

The audio is tuned with Meridian giving it a boombox speaker, Quad DAC and DTS:X 3D Surround Sound.  It’s also one of the few that still has a headphone jack!

Available in Aurora Black and Moroccan Blue in the US.

Release will be on October 18.

There’s also initial reviews out! Let’s check them out:

CNET’s Lynn La gave it a 8.8 over 10 as it gives out a number of photo options and still easy to hold even with the huge screen. Also one of the very few devices that has a headphone jack.

Android Central’s Andrew Martonik gives it 4 out of 5 stars highlighting the perks of the wide-angle camera as a favorite perk to mix up different photos. Combination of the 3 cameras with LG’s software make the device a downright fun phone to shoot with.

The Verge’s Dan Seifert gives the device a good 8 over 10 score highlighting fast performance and great camera system. While cons can be that LG is still quite slow with software updates.

While Business Insider’s Antonio Villas-Boas says it has “the most versatile camera system on a smartphone to date” as he talks about the cameras of the LG device. Its DAC has better sounds compared to other premium smartphones which can be more evident with music better for it.

Then BGR’s Chris Smith says maybe just hold your horses a bit as there may be a bit more upcoming surprises down the road…that might be worth your while.

Android Authority’s David Imel says the battery of 3,300mAh is a bit small for their liking given the big screen (we can help solve that problem though 😉 )

TechRadar’s Matt Swider gives it a 3.5 over 5 stars  as it may have five fun cameras but may not be always the best and the battery’s a bit of a turnoff (we got that last one covered!)

Ok folks, we haven’t forgotten about the price. It’ll range from $900-$980 and may also depend on your carrier:

Verizon: $980

AT&T: $950

T-Mobile: $920

Sprint: $960

US Cellular: $900

That’s it for the rundown of the new device and initial reviews! Have you decided to buy? That almost $1,000 price isn’t a walk in the park so it’s best to keep is safe at all cost!

Stay tuned on our website and social media channels to be updated 😉

iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max: First reviews are in!

iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max: reviews are in!

After the release, here comes the first impression reviews!

Just a week after the release, the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have first impression reviews from several top media sources! While most of you may have already got your hands on the new flagship device from Apple, there are those who may still be waiting or (thinking of getting one)… Not to worry, we’ve collected some first impression reviews to help you out!

Pros of the new phones

Overall, the XS and XS Max share the same internal / external specs (with the Xs Max having a larger screen to differentiate itself). Similar to the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, and 7 and 7 Plus.

The Super Retina OLED screen is definitely a hit! If you don’t mind the notch, just as Raymond Wong from Mashable, you’ll appreciate the “really sharp screen” where colors really pop and viewing the screen from different angles is great!

If you want a larger screen than your current iPhone, you’re in for a treat with the iPhone XS Max as it has the 6.5-in OLED screen! This is the largest screen Apple has placed on an iPhone and currently the biggest on the market. They’re able to do some landscape views too but only with certain Apple apps like Messaging where you get two-column views.

They’ve also added stereo speakers, the HDR10 and DolbyVision for this line, in addition to Apple’s signature True Tone display on both devices. If you’re looking for a software upgrade, the Xs line shipped with iOS 12, which according to Chris Velazco of Engadget is the most pleasant version of Apple’s mobile operating system in a long time. Raymond Wong also added AR apps are more responsive and capable with greater detail too.

Looking for excellent photos? The iPhone X camera was a pretty massive upgrade from previous models and the new iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max continue to build on that hardware. Sure it looks like the same camera as the iPhone X, but CNET says “Trust us, it’s NOT!” Read their full review for complete specs and image examples.

Cons of the devices

If you didn’t upgrade to the iPhone X last year, these devices may take some time getting used to as there’s no home button. Don’t worry, the swipe-centric user interface actually becomes second nature in no time… and Face ID is pretty seamless to setup for device security.

No, Apple didn’t decide to retrograde the device and add the headphone jack back into the iPhone Xs or iPhone Xs Max. Plus, they axed the included dongle! The headphone jack dongle not part of the box anymore, unlike previous devices (and the jack is never coming back… sorry, folks). Not to worry, as we’ve got an easy solution for that with our Talk n Charge Lightning Earbuds! You can also choose to use these on your other Apple gadgets.

The iPhone XS Max screen is not as maximized as it should be in other apps with limited screen display / multitasking views. Although this might change soon hopefully as developers begin adding features that utilize this new display.

BOTH phones are VERY expensive with a starting price of $999 for the iPhone XS and a whopping $1,099 intro price for the iPhone XS Max. That means you will want to keep these screens protected!! YouTuber TechSmartt gave the new phones a series of drop tests and the results were not pretty, despite the claims of more durable glass used in the new iPhone series.

We can help you out… our iPhone X Ballistic Glass screen protector also fits the iPhone Xs device and we have rolled out our iPhone Xs Max Ballistic Glass screen protector on Amazon.com as well! Both include 3 screens, so you can keep a spare on hand or share with friends and family!

Bonus: iPhone XR heads up and a little more info…

The iPhone XR release may still arrive on October 26 and you might want to look at it according to Jessica Dolcourt: it still has some advantages you want to check out like its 6.1-inch LCD screen, the same speedy processor and fun, fashionable colors too. Not to mention, a bit cheaper than the Xs models.

We’ll be covering the iPhone XR reviews too once they’re out!

Or you can try the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus with a discounted price for some old school feels. Plus a home button if you prefer that! 😉 Price starts at $599 and $699 respectively. Then you can even get greater savings (upto $525) with Apple Giveback.

Whichever you choose, we got those all covered!

From Screen Protectors, Cases, MFi-Certified Lightning Cables and car mounts for the ultimate device set!

Google Pixel 3: Arriving on October 9?

Google Pixel 3: Arriving on October 9?

Something big is about to come up from Google!

After the exciting announcement of the new iPhones, we realize not everyone is on team Apple, so let’s get down to the upcoming Google Pixel 3 rumored to be released this October!

Source: Google Store

What’s confirmed:

We know that Google sent out invites for an October 9 event. Plus, they updated their online store with a number “3” on it (the same day Apple started preorder for the new iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max) and everyone right now is betting that signal is referencing the Google Pixel 3.

A lot of leaks have come out!

First off, a Ukrainian dealer got hold of the yet-to-be-released/pre-production Google Pixel 3 XL unit with earphones, USB-C cable and he tested its camera capacity. To top it off: there’s even an unboxing video of it on YouTube! Two days later, it’s rumored that Google and Foxconn held internal talks about these specific leaks.

One of Mobilesyrup’s readers also caught a picture of what seems to be the Pixel 3 XL out in the wild in Toronto showing two front-facing cameras. One tester of the unit forgot the Pixel 3 XL after riding in a Lyft car. Yep, you read that right! It was so leaked that the driver knew he was looking at the un-launched device. That’s definitely one of the leaks you’d least expected! All 3 sources agree that there is a notch on the 3 XL. Rumors indicate it will also have a 6.2-in screen with a 2960×1440 display all powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor.

Meanwhile, another leak shows there will be no notch on the upcoming Pixel 3 and it is said to sport a regular 5.5-inch screen (it will likely look like a mini version of the Pixel 2 XL).

The screen resolution for this smaller device will be 2160×1080 with a 2:1 aspect ratio and a battery clocking in at 2,915mAh.

Both devices are said to have an all glass front and back design and the rumored colors at launch are white, black and mint green. The mint green can also be seen on the coming soon site of google in Japan.

Interested in grabbing a Google Pixel 3?

That’s it for the rumor roundup on the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL! Are you planning to go Team Pixel this year? Let us know in the comments section if you’ll go for the smaller sibling or go all out and go big on the Pixel 3 XL! For now, let’s keep your current device armed with premium screen protection to keep it in tip-top shape (in case you decide to sell it as additional funding for your next device). 😉

Apple Event Recap – New iPhones, Apple Watch and More!

The Wait is OVER! New iPhones are HERE!

Plus a lot more from the recent Apple Event in Cupertino.

Apple finally got to announce the new hardware at the Apple Event in from the Steve Jobs Theater. Did you miss it? No worries, you can watch it here. After several leaks in the weeks leading up to the event, 9to5Mac was able to call 2 of the 3 of the iPhones correctly…

Let’s get to it with the new iPhones!

With exterior specs like last year’s iPhone X, the new iPhone XS has a 5.8-inch Super Retina OLED Display sporting 2.7 million pixels and 458 ppi. Apple considers this as a plus-size display with smaller design.  The iPhone XS Max on the other hand, has a 6.5” Super Retina OLED Display with 3.3 million pixels and 458 ppi. Now THAT’s a serious screen…

Both devices have HDR displays plus with Dolby vision, HDR10, True Tone Display and wider stereo sound. Plus, there’s an updated Face ID (yes, the notch stays) with faster algorithms and secure enclave to keep your data secure.

For all of the budding photographers, there’s also a better camera with a 12MP telephoto and 12MP wide-angle lens and improved True Tone flash on the rear. You’ll enjoy the improved RGB and IR camera on the front along with Smart HDR to get the best selfie possible. There’s also a new way of adjusting a Bokeh photo with the depth of field slider through computational photography to name one of the new perks. This alone is a breakthrough in mobile device camera technology.

Both phones will be powered by the new A12 bionic — the first 7 nanometer chip that promises lightning fast performance never seen in a mobile device. The A12 Bionic chip paired with performance updates from iOS 12 (coming September 17) will also unlock the power of real time machine learning which can be used on camera like Animoji, portrait photos, AR experiences and clips app (launching in fall). Also, you can get more done with Siri Shortcuts.

Another big spec for the iPhone XS models is the Dual Sim Dual Standby with eSim technology for the world (2 physical sims in China). The iPhone XS family will be available in the colors: Gold, Silver and Space Gray with 64GB, 256GB and 512GB storage sizes.

Now, the sad news… The iPhone XS starts at $999, while the iPhone XS Max starts at $1,099. With all the bells and whistles of Apple’s newest offering, this is a serious investment!! Not to worry, Tech Armor is here to arm these devices with premium screen protection and more.

Plus, starting today, you can get 30% OFF our signature Ballistic Glass screen protector if you pre-order from Amazon.com by 9/21. Next week, when our first shipment arrives, we’ll send one off to you, so you can be ready for anything! Check it out HERE!

Fortunately, you don’t have to wait long to get your hands on one of these new flagship devices. You can start to order TODAY (September 14) and it will be available by September 21.

A 3rd iPhone? Indeed…

Apple clearly recognized that the hefty price tag of the iPhone XS could be a deal-breaker for some folks, so they found a way to pack some of the most important features into a less-costly model. The iPhone XR has a 6.1″ LCD display Apple dubbed the  Liquid Retina LCD Display with 1.4 million pixels and 326 ppi. If you’re looking for speed, this model is also powered by the A12 Bionic chip with the real time machine learning.

Similar to the other “X” models, the iPhone XR has no home button and 3D Touch was replaced by Haptic Touch to wake and swipe. The signature notch exists here too offering Face ID for the budget device.

Photographers rejoice! The iPhone XR will have a single-lens 12MP wide-angle camera on the rear with Quick LED TrueTone flash, advanced Bokeh depth control and smart HDR like the XS and XS Max. Selfie fans will enjoy the TrueDepth camera available on the front and travelers can utilize the Dual Sim tech for this device.

Storage sizes for the iPhone XR are a little more modest at 64GB, 128GB and 256GB (no half-TB juggernaut here). However, the color options here are much more exciting than the XS family with white, black, blue, coral, yellow and Product Red options.

Just because this is the “budget” option, doesn’t mean it’s cheap… pricing for the iPhone XR starts at $749 and you’ll have to wait a little while for this one: pre-order will start October 19 and availability for the devices are on October 26.

Apple Watch Series 4

The latest Apple smartwatches have new and thinner designs, but 35% and 32% larger displays at 40mm and 44mm respectively. The Series 4 also offers brand new watch faces and a Digital Crown with haptic feedback. Its speaker and microphone are on opposite sides to reduce echoing and increase volume, so your calls will sound better. Radio-waves coming from front and back promise a better connection too! Both sizes are powered by a faster 94-bit Dual-Core processor.

Another new spec is the Accelerometer Gyroscope which now provides a new feature Apple calls “Fall Detection”. If you’re immobile for one minute (post fall), the watch will automatically call emergency services. The California tech-giant also added electrodes for this series so users can get Electrocardiogram/ECG readings! A first for any watch wearable of its kind, the entire process will just take 30 seconds and results will be saved on the Health App. This has been given clearance by the FDA will be available later this year in the US.

The Apple Watch Series 4 will be available in these colors: Silver, Gold and Space Gray aluminum finishes plus the stainless collection: polished in Spack Black and Gold Stainless.

The starting cost will be $399 with GPS, $499 cellular.  You can start to order TODAY as well and it will be available by September 21 (just like the iPhone XS models). Bonus: the Series 3 which is obviously available right now will have new price starting at $279. The new watchOS 5 software will be available on September 17, just in time for launch!

Another something new: Apple Giveback

You can trade-in your old device and get an Apple Store Gift card or a refund on your next purchase! You can get a refund on the next iPhone XS or Apple Watch Series 4 starting September 14. Here’s the catch: you can get this perk if your phone is still functional or can be used by another. If not, Apple will (responsibly) recycle the device for free.

Business Insider took this process for a test run and it seems pretty easy. You can go through the motions on the Apple website or bring it into a store for an Apple Gift card or money off a new phone purchase. You just need to answer a series of questions like: does it turn on and boot up? Is the screen cracked? Here at Tech Armor we always advocate for screen protection and protective cases and this is one of the main reason right here! For the small investment in one of our Ballistic Glass screen protectors, you can even more back on the trade-in! Not to mention avoiding the dreaded shame of walking around with a cracked screen (don’t be that person).

That’s about it for the announcement round up!

As always, we’ll be ready with preorder for the accessories on these to keep your new almost or already $1,000 device safe from drops and scratches! Stay tuned on our website and Amazon Storefront Page for the latest and greatest Tech Armor accessories!

Apple Special Event – September 2018 – iPhone XS?

September 12: mark your calendars for the Apple Event!

We officially got word from Apple and we have a surprise of our own for you!

Apple Invitation; Source iMore

What’s official?

Apple officially sent invites for a September 12 event at the Steve Jobs Theater in their new campus at Cupertino, California at 10:00am PST. Head to the Apple site to add the event to your calendar.

What’s [soon to be] official? iPhones, iPad Pros and Apple Watches. Yep, that many!

First off: iPhones!

Just after Apple’s announcement date, 9to5Mac got an exclusive first look of what the iPhone XS will be (we also shared this article on our Facebook page with an exciting info added 😉 #giveaway). The site claims the iPhone XS (pronounced as 10-S) will both be the names of the 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED iPhones— with the sizes differentiating them(and perhaps a “Plus” name on the larger version). A gold version might also be on the way!

However, CNET’s Jessica Dolcourt says if we follow the rumors, they might be called the iPhone X (5.8-inch), iPhone X (6.1-inch) and iPhone X (6.5-inch). Still, iMore’s Rene Ritchie is eyeing for the iPhone 9 name for the 6.1-inch LCD while iPhone X2 for the next gen from last year’s OLED iPhone while iPhone Plus (with pencil support) for the larger OLED device. So, right now the names for the 3 new devices are still quite up in the air, but we’re confident 9to5Mac will be proven right here.

For the 2 OLED display devices: they’re rumored to have an A12 processor and could carry 4GB of RAM, faster LTE with new Intel chips and camera upgrades. Previous rumors like dual-SIMs for both phones and Apple Pencil support for the larger screen is still uncertain.

Meanwhile, the cheaper LCD device (according to Bloomberg) will be available in multiple colors and boast aluminum edges that might not necessarily be the same as the glass back color of the device.

It appears all 3 will sport the Face ID feature and the edge-to-edge screen from last year’s iPhone X (along with everyone’s favorite “notch” at the top).

Ming-Chi Kuo estimates the price range for the following will be:

  • Second-gen iPhone X: $800-$900
  • 6.5-inch OLED device: $900-$1,000
  • 6.1-inch LCD device: $600-$700

Wouldn’t it be nice if they just gave these away for free?? We already pay for the mobile service, right?

Well… here at Tech Armor, we’re doing JUST THAT! Stay tuned after the Apple Announcement to hear how you can win a FREE iPhone XS!

Just signup on our website and we’ll send instructions straight to your Inbox! 🙂  (we told you we had a surprise for you!)

This year’s Apple Watches (Series 4)

9to5Mac also got a leaked photo of this device. This batch of smartwatches will have an edge-to-edge display giving an estimated 15 percent bigger screen space (which Ming-Chi Kuo also claimed). The analyst added that the California tech-giant might either use smaller bezels or might increase the sizes from 38mm and 42mm to 40mm and 45mm respectively. Either way, it looks like a larger battery might be worked into the design as well.

Hello iPad Pro

Another device that might be launched could be an upgraded iPad Pro whose design (and lack of bezels) will be similar to the iPhone X. Wave goodbye to the home button as we say hello to Face ID on this one too. We might even see TWO new iPad Pros according to Bloomberg: an 11-inch and 12.9-inch model.

Phew! That’s it for this week’s Apple launch rundown!

We’ll also be announcing soon new screen protectors and other accessories for the next iPhones and iPad Pros too! Stay tuned! 😉

LG V40/ThinQ: renders and launch date revealed?

LG V40 / ThinQ: renders and launch date revealed?

Another ThinQ ?

What’s popular right now is the tag team render from Slashleaks and Onleaks based on factory CAD images.

Render from Onleaks and Slashleaks

For the name, the rumor mill is juggling between the names LG V40 and LG V40 ThinQ (following the other latest releases of the tech-company along with their AI).

Going back to the renders, they seem to agree with Android Authority’s report that this device will be a mix of the V35 Thin Q and G7 ThinQ. The estimated dimensions floating around right now are 158.8 x 75.8 x 7.8-8.2mm and it appears this will also be all-glass with a 6.3-in display (most likely an  OLED screen). This phone is said to be 0.3-inches larger than the LG V30 ThinQ.

Speaking of screen, you might not like it, but it’s still happening… a notch on the display. The Apple iPhone X trend is still alive and well in 2018 and it doesn’t look to be going away with the new LG device. The good news is, the LG notch is rumored to hold 2 selfie shooter cameras.

LG V35 ThinQ

The LG V40 [ThinQ] will also have a horizontal 3-camera set up at the back (this is a first for LG phones)So all in all, if the rumors are correct, this device has a total of 5 CAMERAS in its arsenal! There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack which may feature the Hi-Fi Quad DAC audio and a side-mounted power button and a dedicated Assistant button.

As for the launch date, LG senior official Lee Myung-bak said it could be early-mid October (like October 18). Although the display renders show a November 14 date so there may be a possibility it may be between that timelineHowever, Android Authority estimates a September launch with the phone being available as early as October 5. We’ll keep our eyes peeled on that.

LG V35 ThinQ

The estimated price for the new LG device will be around $700-$900 depending mostly on internal storage or sale prices. That’s it for this rumor round-up! Which rumor are you most interested to come true? For now, let’s make sure your current LG phone is armed with the best protection from drops and scratches! Plus, get other accessories to arm your phone  like Car Mounts, Chargers, Cables and Cleaning Kits!
