10 Reasons to Wait for iPhone 11

Has it been a while since you’ve upgraded your phone – perhaps waiting year over year for the ideal phone? The 2018 iPhones are still be all means, an excellent choice for anyone, but Apple’s rumored 2019 iPhones, the iPhone 11, might be the best choice of all. Those of you in the market for a new phone might be wise to go hands-on with Apple’s latest iPhones before (or waiting to buy) your next phone.

Others might want to start thinking about waiting for this year’s crop of iPhones. Being literally just a day from Apple’s iPhones announcements, the rumors of credible merit have of course been pouring out of ever major tech blog and website online for months.

The iPhone 11 Rumors

Ahead of any official announcement, Apple’s registered eleven new iPhone models in the Eurasian Economic Commission database.

According to Indian blog MySmartPrice , these models most likely represent Apple’s new crop of iPhones. EEC filings often come several months ahead of any release and we’re already preparing for this month’s launch date.

This shouldn’t really come as much of a surprise. The new iPhones will reportedly feature a new A13 Processor, a new camera setup, 4 GB of RAM and a dual-camera setup on the iPhone XR’s successor, OLED and LCD displays without 3D Touchm and Apple Pencil support.

Rumors also claim that the new iPhone 11 ditch Lightning in favor of USB-C like Apple’s newest iPad Prods. Other reports claim the company will keep Lightning as the standard on the iPhone 11.

With all of this and so much more in mind, let’s take a look at some reasons to consider Apple’s new iPhones.

Why Wait for the iPhone 11 Launch

If you absolutely must upgrade your phone, don’t wait for the iPhone 11 if you need to upgrade in the very near future and affordability is a primary factor. This being said, if you absolutely must have the latest iPhone and cost isn’t so much a factor, you’re going to definitely want to tune-in to Apple’s iPhone 11 launch event (being tomorrow!) for all the excitement for the new iPhone before making that decision to buy the phone.

Wait for the best version of iOS 13

New iPhones typically are released with some exclusive software features so if you want the absolute best version of iOS 13, you might want to hang on for that.  According to some credible rumors, the new iPhones will come with a camera upgrade that rivals Google’s Night Sight feature. The feature would help the new iPhones shoot better photos in low light environments.

Wait for the Powerful Cameras

The 2018 iPhones come with Apple’s arguably best cameras, but if the upgrades aren’t enough, you’ll want to think about waiting for the potential change coming with the next iPhone.  the iPhone 11 rumors have repeatedly pointed to a new camera setup. Specifically, hinting at a triple-lens rear camera system complete with advanced 3D sensing (for use with Augmented Reality) and stereoscoping imaging.

Wait for Potential Apple Pencil Support

Trendforce claimed Apple would be bringing Apple Pencil support to the 2018 iPhone models but this didn’t happen. Respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes Apple Pencil Support will come to the iPhone at some point, but he hasn’t said anything about the iPhone 11.

Wait for Better Wi0Fi & LTE

The 2019 iPhones might not support 5G, but they could come with improve Wi-Fi.  According to a Barclays analyst, Apple’s new iPhones could deliver support for Wi-Fi 6, also known as 802.11ax.  Apple may take its time with 5G, but there still stands a chance Apple is among the first to offer the new Wi-Fi standard on its product line.

If Apple does install Wi-Fi 6 support on its new iPhones, we can expect better data rates, better service in crowded areas like sporting events and concerts, and improved battery performance.

Wait for Performance Improvements

The new iPhones will likely retain Apple’s Lightning standard, but it looks like they will come with some improvements to the internal better and a new charging capability.  A report out of Korea claims the new version of the iPhone XR will come with a 3110 mAh battery which would be more than a 5% improvement from the 2942 mAH battery on the current model.  In addition, it looks like the new devices will include “bilateral wireless charging for charging other devices.” So in other words, we might be able to use the phones to charge other devices like your AirPods.

Wait for Better Speakers

There is a rumor that suggests Apple is making some improvements to the stereo speaker setup.  There isn’t much in the way of specifics, but if you want booming sound on your next iPhone, you might want to hang around and see what Apple does with this year’s models.

Wait for Face ID Improvements

According to some other credible rumor reports, Apple is preparing an upgraded system that lets you use wider angles with unlocking your phone.  iOS will bring improvements to Face ID as well.

Wait for New Colors

It looks like the 2019 version of the iPhone XR will come in some new colors.  Japanese blog Mac Otakara claims the new iPhone XR will come in six colors like its predecessor but it looks like two colors will get swapped out.  Specifically, it is looking like Blue and Coral will be swapped out for Green and Lavender. Apple will continue to offer the iPhone XR in black, white, yellow, and (Product) red.

Wait for More Base Storage

Rumor has it that Apple plans to increase the base storage on this year’s iPhone models.  According to some leaked news, Apple’s 2019 iPhone lineup will start with 128GB of storage. Right now, Apple’s flagship iPhones start at 64GB of storage and then jump up to 256GB.  This is a huge deal if Apple keeps the base models at the same starting prices. The iPhone XS starts at $999 USD without a trade-in and the larger iPhone XS Max starts at $1099.

Apple iPod

2019: Return of the Apple iPod?

2019: Return of the Apple iPod?

Retro is in and a lot of things have returned (like the Jedi) and Apple has their own ideas to follow suit.

Apple iPod

And yes… you read the title right: the Apple iPod may be having a comeback!

Macotakara got wind (from Apple suppliers that were in CES 2019) of info that a 7th generation Apple iPod touch is currently in the works. A revamp of the looks/hardware might be in store too.

This just got more solidified as Apple applied for the device’s trademark that would expand its abilities to units for electronic games and handheld game consoles

To put the cherry on top of that confirmation: there’s also found codes of an unreleased of an “iPod9,1” on the iOS 12.2.

What’s in the new Apple iPod?

Quite little is known about the device (Apple and their surprises, right?) but we’ve got some info going to help paint a picture of the iPod! This new device most likely will use the A12 Bionic chip found in the 2018 iPhone models.

Another source indicates that (so far) this will not have Face ID nor Touch ID. Apple may have another interesting surprise for its security picture other than the usual passcode. As for the overall look, it’s still quite unknown if the iPods will be slimmer with a 4-in display or go larger (similar to the iPhone XR).

BUT! There’s a popular render going around about what the new device will look like (plus a glimpse of iPhone 11) with a 7-in Retina Display

Apple iPod

One more thing: we might see it by March according to EverythingApplePro!

Apple iPod

Bonus: It’s not only the iPod we’ll keep an eye on: new iPads may also be on the way. It may be a 9.7-in iPad entry level and an iPad Mini, both with cellular + Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi option only. Which all may be released together in March. Check out our future blogs for more info! 😉

Suddenly feeling nostalgic? We totally understand. Hope your current iPod screen is still intact! From then until now, our promise of “You Play We Protect” is just as strong as our products are!

iPhone 8 Plus screen protector protection

Testimonial: Tech Armor Screen Protector + iPhone 8 Plus vs. Freeway at 65mph!

Testimonial: Tech Armor Screen Protector + iPhone 8 Plus vs. Freeway at 65mph!

We love reading stories about the abuse some people put their phones and tablets through (hey, we’ve all been there).

Your mobile devices are with you every day, so it stands to reason that things go a little haywire from time to time. Over the years, our customer service team has received emails from the TA Nation that detail seemingly horrific events. Crazy things that should have destroyed their screen (remember the riding lawnmower incident???), yet after the smoke cleared, the device lived!

Well, recently Joe accidentally left his iPhone 8 Plus on top of his car and hit the freeway! Normally, that spells death for any device, but he was armed with Ballistic Glass from Tech Armor… we’ll let Mr. Daniels explain:

I have used your ballistic glass and cases for years.  Your products are unequalled by far.  Recently, I accidentally left my phone on top of my car and it fell off at 65 MPH on the freeway.  It somehow got trapped under my car because I thought I had hit something in the road.

Hours later when I discovered my phone was missing, I pieced together what had happened and what the noise I heard must have been.  I tried calling my phone and to my surprise it rang four times before going to voicemail.  I then used the Find my phone app and located it.  I could not believe it was still on and transmitting.  I went looking for it and found it damaged, but still working!  Unbelievable!!

It flew off on the freeway, got tangled up with my car and God knows how many others, it was more than 100 feet from the freeway laying on the side of the road and still working.  I attached some photos.

Great product.

Regards,

Joe Daniels

OK… so, is this iPhone 8 Plus pretty?

No, not really… but thanks to premium gear from Tech Armor, it lives to fight another day! The iPhone 8 Plus has a pretty massive screen, so the fact that this was able to take a fall from a moving car on the freeway at 65 mph and still function is a testament to our Ballistic Glass and case technology.

Imagine NFL football players or extreme sports athletes without a helmet or padding… At Tech Armor, we take the hit, so your phone or tablet can play on! Is your device ready for tomorrow?

iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max: First reviews are in!

iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max: reviews are in!

After the release, here comes the first impression reviews!

Just a week after the release, the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have first impression reviews from several top media sources! While most of you may have already got your hands on the new flagship device from Apple, there are those who may still be waiting or (thinking of getting one)… Not to worry, we’ve collected some first impression reviews to help you out!

Pros of the new phones

Overall, the XS and XS Max share the same internal / external specs (with the Xs Max having a larger screen to differentiate itself). Similar to the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, and 7 and 7 Plus.

The Super Retina OLED screen is definitely a hit! If you don’t mind the notch, just as Raymond Wong from Mashable, you’ll appreciate the “really sharp screen” where colors really pop and viewing the screen from different angles is great!

If you want a larger screen than your current iPhone, you’re in for a treat with the iPhone XS Max as it has the 6.5-in OLED screen! This is the largest screen Apple has placed on an iPhone and currently the biggest on the market. They’re able to do some landscape views too but only with certain Apple apps like Messaging where you get two-column views.

They’ve also added stereo speakers, the HDR10 and DolbyVision for this line, in addition to Apple’s signature True Tone display on both devices. If you’re looking for a software upgrade, the Xs line shipped with iOS 12, which according to Chris Velazco of Engadget is the most pleasant version of Apple’s mobile operating system in a long time. Raymond Wong also added AR apps are more responsive and capable with greater detail too.

Looking for excellent photos? The iPhone X camera was a pretty massive upgrade from previous models and the new iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max continue to build on that hardware. Sure it looks like the same camera as the iPhone X, but CNET says “Trust us, it’s NOT!” Read their full review for complete specs and image examples.

Cons of the devices

If you didn’t upgrade to the iPhone X last year, these devices may take some time getting used to as there’s no home button. Don’t worry, the swipe-centric user interface actually becomes second nature in no time… and Face ID is pretty seamless to setup for device security.

No, Apple didn’t decide to retrograde the device and add the headphone jack back into the iPhone Xs or iPhone Xs Max. Plus, they axed the included dongle! The headphone jack dongle not part of the box anymore, unlike previous devices (and the jack is never coming back… sorry, folks). Not to worry, as we’ve got an easy solution for that with our Talk n Charge Lightning Earbuds! You can also choose to use these on your other Apple gadgets.

The iPhone XS Max screen is not as maximized as it should be in other apps with limited screen display / multitasking views. Although this might change soon hopefully as developers begin adding features that utilize this new display.

BOTH phones are VERY expensive with a starting price of $999 for the iPhone XS and a whopping $1,099 intro price for the iPhone XS Max. That means you will want to keep these screens protected!! YouTuber TechSmartt gave the new phones a series of drop tests and the results were not pretty, despite the claims of more durable glass used in the new iPhone series.

We can help you out… our iPhone X Ballistic Glass screen protector also fits the iPhone Xs device and we have rolled out our iPhone Xs Max Ballistic Glass screen protector on Amazon.com as well! Both include 3 screens, so you can keep a spare on hand or share with friends and family!

Bonus: iPhone XR heads up and a little more info…

The iPhone XR release may still arrive on October 26 and you might want to look at it according to Jessica Dolcourt: it still has some advantages you want to check out like its 6.1-inch LCD screen, the same speedy processor and fun, fashionable colors too. Not to mention, a bit cheaper than the Xs models.

We’ll be covering the iPhone XR reviews too once they’re out!

Or you can try the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus with a discounted price for some old school feels. Plus a home button if you prefer that! 😉 Price starts at $599 and $699 respectively. Then you can even get greater savings (upto $525) with Apple Giveback.

Whichever you choose, we got those all covered!

From Screen Protectors, Cases, MFi-Certified Lightning Cables and car mounts for the ultimate device set!

Check out our website and Amazon Storefront page for everything and anything that you’d need!

Apple Event Recap – New iPhones, Apple Watch and More!

The Wait is OVER! New iPhones are HERE!

Plus a lot more from the recent Apple Event in Cupertino.

Apple finally got to announce the new hardware at the Apple Event in from the Steve Jobs Theater. Did you miss it? No worries, you can watch it here. After several leaks in the weeks leading up to the event, 9to5Mac was able to call 2 of the 3 of the iPhones correctly…

Let’s get to it with the new iPhones!

With exterior specs like last year’s iPhone X, the new iPhone XS has a 5.8-inch Super Retina OLED Display sporting 2.7 million pixels and 458 ppi. Apple considers this as a plus-size display with smaller design.  The iPhone XS Max on the other hand, has a 6.5” Super Retina OLED Display with 3.3 million pixels and 458 ppi. Now THAT’s a serious screen…

Both devices have HDR displays plus with Dolby vision, HDR10, True Tone Display and wider stereo sound. Plus, there’s an updated Face ID (yes, the notch stays) with faster algorithms and secure enclave to keep your data secure.

For all of the budding photographers, there’s also a better camera with a 12MP telephoto and 12MP wide-angle lens and improved True Tone flash on the rear. You’ll enjoy the improved RGB and IR camera on the front along with Smart HDR to get the best selfie possible. There’s also a new way of adjusting a Bokeh photo with the depth of field slider through computational photography to name one of the new perks. This alone is a breakthrough in mobile device camera technology.

Apple.com image

Both phones will be powered by the new A12 bionic — the first 7 nanometer chip that promises lightning fast performance never seen in a mobile device. The A12 Bionic chip paired with performance updates from iOS 12 (coming September 17) will also unlock the power of real time machine learning which can be used on camera like Animoji, portrait photos, AR experiences and clips app (launching in fall). Also, you can get more done with Siri Shortcuts.

Another big spec for the iPhone XS models is the Dual Sim Dual Standby with eSim technology for the world (2 physical sims in China). The iPhone XS family will be available in the colors: Gold, Silver and Space Gray with 64GB, 256GB and 512GB storage sizes.

Now, the sad news… The iPhone XS starts at $999, while the iPhone XS Max starts at $1,099. With all the bells and whistles of Apple’s newest offering, this is a serious investment!! Not to worry, Tech Armor is here to arm these devices with premium screen protection and more.

Plus, starting today, you can get 30% OFF our signature Ballistic Glass screen protector if you pre-order from Amazon.com by 9/21. Next week, when our first shipment arrives, we’ll send one off to you, so you can be ready for anything! Check it out HERE!

Fortunately, you don’t have to wait long to get your hands on one of these new flagship devices. You can start to order TODAY (September 14) and it will be available by September 21.

A 3rd iPhone? Indeed…

Apple clearly recognized that the hefty price tag of the iPhone XS could be a deal-breaker for some folks, so they found a way to pack some of the most important features into a less-costly model. The iPhone XR has a 6.1″ LCD display Apple dubbed the  Liquid Retina LCD Display with 1.4 million pixels and 326 ppi. If you’re looking for speed, this model is also powered by the A12 Bionic chip with the real time machine learning.

Similar to the other “X” models, the iPhone XR has no home button and 3D Touch was replaced by Haptic Touch to wake and swipe. The signature notch exists here too offering Face ID for the budget device.

Photographers rejoice! The iPhone XR will have a single-lens 12MP wide-angle camera on the rear with Quick LED TrueTone flash, advanced Bokeh depth control and smart HDR like the XS and XS Max. Selfie fans will enjoy the TrueDepth camera available on the front and travelers can utilize the Dual Sim tech for this device.

Storage sizes for the iPhone XR are a little more modest at 64GB, 128GB and 256GB (no half-TB juggernaut here). However, the color options here are much more exciting than the XS family with white, black, blue, coral, yellow and Product Red options.

Just because this is the “budget” option, doesn’t mean it’s cheap… pricing for the iPhone XR starts at $749 and you’ll have to wait a little while for this one: pre-order will start October 19 and availability for the devices are on October 26.

Apple Watch Series 4

The latest Apple smartwatches have new and thinner designs, but 35% and 32% larger displays at 40mm and 44mm respectively. The Series 4 also offers brand new watch faces and a Digital Crown with haptic feedback. Its speaker and microphone are on opposite sides to reduce echoing and increase volume, so your calls will sound better. Radio-waves coming from front and back promise a better connection too! Both sizes are powered by a faster 94-bit Dual-Core processor.

Another new spec is the Accelerometer Gyroscope which now provides a new feature Apple calls “Fall Detection”. If you’re immobile for one minute (post fall), the watch will automatically call emergency services. The California tech-giant also added electrodes for this series so users can get Electrocardiogram/ECG readings! A first for any watch wearable of its kind, the entire process will just take 30 seconds and results will be saved on the Health App. This has been given clearance by the FDA will be available later this year in the US.

The Apple Watch Series 4 will be available in these colors: Silver, Gold and Space Gray aluminum finishes plus the stainless collection: polished in Spack Black and Gold Stainless.

The starting cost will be $399 with GPS, $499 cellular.  You can start to order TODAY as well and it will be available by September 21 (just like the iPhone XS models). Bonus: the Series 3 which is obviously available right now will have new price starting at $279. The new watchOS 5 software will be available on September 17, just in time for launch!

Another something new: Apple Giveback

You can trade-in your old device and get an Apple Store Gift card or a refund on your next purchase! You can get a refund on the next iPhone XS or Apple Watch Series 4 starting September 14. Here’s the catch: you can get this perk if your phone is still functional or can be used by another. If not, Apple will (responsibly) recycle the device for free.

Business Insider took this process for a test run and it seems pretty easy. You can go through the motions on the Apple website or bring it into a store for an Apple Gift card or money off a new phone purchase. You just need to answer a series of questions like: does it turn on and boot up? Is the screen cracked? Here at Tech Armor we always advocate for screen protection and protective cases and this is one of the main reason right here! For the small investment in one of our Ballistic Glass screen protectors, you can even more back on the trade-in! Not to mention avoiding the dreaded shame of walking around with a cracked screen (don’t be that person).

That’s about it for the announcement round up!

As always, we’ll be ready with preorder for the accessories on these to keep your new almost or already $1,000 device safe from drops and scratches! Stay tuned on our website and Amazon Storefront Page for the latest and greatest Tech Armor accessories!

Apple Special Event – September 2018 – iPhone XS?

September 12: mark your calendars for the Apple Event!

We officially got word from Apple and we have a surprise of our own for you!

Apple Invitation; Source iMore

What’s official?

Apple officially sent invites for a September 12 event at the Steve Jobs Theater in their new campus at Cupertino, California at 10:00am PST. Head to the Apple site to add the event to your calendar.

What’s [soon to be] official? iPhones, iPad Pros and Apple Watches. Yep, that many!

First off: iPhones!

Just after Apple’s announcement date, 9to5Mac got an exclusive first look of what the iPhone XS will be (we also shared this article on our Facebook page with an exciting info added 😉 #giveaway). The site claims the iPhone XS (pronounced as 10-S) will both be the names of the 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED iPhones— with the sizes differentiating them(and perhaps a “Plus” name on the larger version). A gold version might also be on the way!

However, CNET’s Jessica Dolcourt says if we follow the rumors, they might be called the iPhone X (5.8-inch), iPhone X (6.1-inch) and iPhone X (6.5-inch). Still, iMore’s Rene Ritchie is eyeing for the iPhone 9 name for the 6.1-inch LCD while iPhone X2 for the next gen from last year’s OLED iPhone while iPhone Plus (with pencil support) for the larger OLED device. So, right now the names for the 3 new devices are still quite up in the air, but we’re confident 9to5Mac will be proven right here.

For the 2 OLED display devices: they’re rumored to have an A12 processor and could carry 4GB of RAM, faster LTE with new Intel chips and camera upgrades. Previous rumors like dual-SIMs for both phones and Apple Pencil support for the larger screen is still uncertain.

Meanwhile, the cheaper LCD device (according to Bloomberg) will be available in multiple colors and boast aluminum edges that might not necessarily be the same as the glass back color of the device.

It appears all 3 will sport the Face ID feature and the edge-to-edge screen from last year’s iPhone X (along with everyone’s favorite “notch” at the top).

Ming-Chi Kuo estimates the price range for the following will be:

  • Second-gen iPhone X: $800-$900
  • 6.5-inch OLED device: $900-$1,000
  • 6.1-inch LCD device: $600-$700

Wouldn’t it be nice if they just gave these away for free?? We already pay for the mobile service, right?

Well… here at Tech Armor, we’re doing JUST THAT! Stay tuned after the Apple Announcement to hear how you can win a FREE iPhone XS!

Just signup on our website and we’ll send instructions straight to your Inbox! 🙂  (we told you we had a surprise for you!)

This year’s Apple Watches (Series 4)

9to5Mac also got a leaked photo of this device. This batch of smartwatches will have an edge-to-edge display giving an estimated 15 percent bigger screen space (which Ming-Chi Kuo also claimed). The analyst added that the California tech-giant might either use smaller bezels or might increase the sizes from 38mm and 42mm to 40mm and 45mm respectively. Either way, it looks like a larger battery might be worked into the design as well.

Hello iPad Pro

Another device that might be launched could be an upgraded iPad Pro whose design (and lack of bezels) will be similar to the iPhone X. Wave goodbye to the home button as we say hello to Face ID on this one too. We might even see TWO new iPad Pros according to Bloomberg: an 11-inch and 12.9-inch model.

Phew! That’s it for this week’s Apple launch rundown!

As always, we’ll make sure to keep your Apple devices safe! Check out our Amazon Storefront Page and our website to get all the latest for your iPhone or iPad!

We’ll also be announcing soon new screen protectors and other accessories for the next iPhones and iPad Pros too! Stay tuned! 😉

WWDC 2018: keynote highlights and more!

WWDC 2018: keynote highlights and more!

Apple’s got something new to show!

The new iPhones may be months away but Apple’s announced huge software updates during the WWDC 2018 keynote that are definitely worth checking out! Don’t fret as we’ve got them outlined below for you!

Updated operating systems

iOS 12

Facing backlash from a less than stellar experience with iOS 11, Apple want to make a comeback with the iOS 12 operating sytem. They are going for a more user-friendly experience with features like privacy settings while browsing the web. Plus, they’re making devices faster with performance boosts to accessing the camera and faster app launch even with heavy phone usage.

The tech giant is also getting more in-depth with AR by introducing ARKit 2. With this new feature you can have the same augmented reality environment in different devices and in their own point of view! Cool! For Animoji lovers, they’ve also added in new animals plus you can create an Animoji of yourself or Memoji (Samsung ring a bell?) ! These are now also supported on FaceTime and you can communicate with 32 people at the same time

One developer poked around the iOS 12 and saw references of the Face ID feature coming to the iPad which has long been rumored.

macOS Mojave

Some might have been waiting for hardware changes but for now, we’ve got an updated OS. So from macOS High Sierra, we now go to macOS Mojave. They also focused on desktop security with strengthened privacy features, especially while you’re browsing on the internet or “fingerprinting” will be more difficult to track by ads firms.

There’s also the Continuity Camera feature that allows you to take a photo with your iPhone and directly place it on a file in your Mac. Speaking of that connection, Apple also introduced a sneak peak of a shared app platform to migrate iOS apps to macOS apps with minimal code changes.

Apple Watch OS 5

One of the notable features is the instant audio messaging app called Walkie-Talkie where you can chat with someone through your Apple watch. Sounds a bit James Bond right? Hardware-wise we only got cases and Apple Watch bands… seems they’re saving the best for the September event!

That’s it for the overview! Don’t forget to update your Apple devices with the new operating systems so your data is secured with the latest privacy features! As for the hardware, you can update your device protection with us! Check out the Tech Armor Website for all the devices we’re currently protecting… or go to our Amazon Storefront Page if you prefer prime shipping.

WWDC 2018 and the next iPhones: what to expect?

WWDC 2018 and the next iPhones: what to expect?

Special rumors edition with WWDC in tow!

New iOS? New devices? A lot of rumors coming up for the WWDC this June! Get caught up with all the info you need just in time for the event!

The only sure known info right now is it will be on June 4-8 at the Mc Enery Convention Center in San Jose, California. Their teaser page promises a series of sessions, hand-on labs, consultations and guest speakers (none listed by name).

Now for the WWDC rumor mill bits:

As a developer’s conference, we might get to see the iOS 12 where Apple redeems itself from the issue of the previous software version. The tech-giant will be focusing on improvements like the Face ID, being able to unlock the phone sideways or landscape mode. Plus more Animojis!

They may also focus on the universal app feature for macOS 10.14 and iOS 12— making apps compatible for both operating systems—hence, more apps available for Macs. You may remember that Apple purchased Beddit May last year, so we may get to see a sleep-tracking feature on watchOS 5 among other updates.

What rumors for the devices?…

The iPhone SE 2 is still a “will they, won’t they” device. If not during the WWDC, it may come out during the third quarter of the year or along with the other iPhones. You can expect a notch and no Touch ID on this one, folks!

Speaking of no Touch ID and notch, we may get to see iPad Pros (both the 12.9 and the 10.5-inch models) start to utilize this design too. Though it might not get an OLED display due to supplier issues.

Now for some iPhone Rumors

So far everyone seems to agree there will be 3 sure iPhones coming out this year: a refresh to the iPhone X, a larger “plus” version and a smaller, budget-friendly phone model

A new development maybe the iPen which will support one (or two) of the iPhones. Sounds like the Galaxy Note 9 doesn’t it?

Phew! That’s a lot of new (and surely expensive) devices!

Not to worry as we’ve got your back! We’ll surely be protecting these devices as always to help you preserve your investment! As promised: you play, we protect!

Check out the Tech Armor website or our Amazon Storefront Page for the latest devices we’re protecting!

Kevlar-reinforced lightning cables

Kevlar®-Reinforced Lightning Cables: your next must-have!

Kevlar®-Reinforced Lightning Cables: your next must-have!

Tech Armor is stepping up the charging game to help you out!

How many lightning cables do you have at home? Or maybe a better question is how many have you broken over the years? That will definitely be a thing of the past with our newest lightning cable line!

Made with Kevlar®?

Yes, folks! We’ve added Kevlar® on the interior of our cables to provide a stronger, more durable charge and sync solution for your Apple devices. This material is known for for being featherweight while having 8 times the tensile strength or resistance force of a steel wire.  It’s commonly used to create bulletproof vests, car tires, car breaks and strings of archery bows just to name a few.

As with our other lightning cables, these are also MFi-Certified; they have endured the rigorous testing from Apple and met all their standards. So it’s safe to charge and sync various iPhones and iPads without worry.

Using products approved by Apple is a great investment since there is strict quality control for these accessories. Plus, starting with the iOS 7, the device can already detect several “fake” cables ensuring your safety from unwanted damage either to your device due to power surges or to you (electric shock, etc.).

We developed this new line with our signature, external braided nylon jacket for added strength while preventing tangles/crimping. And to put the extra cherry on top, we added a “strain relief” connector on both sides of the cable to prevent breakage at the most vulnerable area: the ends! That’s true 360-degree protection!

But hold on, we didn’t stop there: these cables also have our Limited Lifetime Warranty, just like our screen protectors, so you can rest easy knowing you’re covered!

Awesome! Are they available now?

Yes to that too! You can get yours on our website or on Amazon.com (to take advantage of that sweet Amazon Prime shipping). You can choose from Black or Space Gray in 2 ft or 6 ft sizes. Whether you’re looking for a home, office or travel solution, we’ve got you covered!

Apple goes back to school

Apple goes back to school!

And with updated tech too for students

It may be Spring Break (and with summer just around the corner), but Apple surprised everyone by having a “field trip” at Lane Tech College Prep High School in Chicago for special announcements.

From the iPhone X late last year, the Cupertino giant went back to its roots: helping with education.

Read the rundown below!

Apple highlighted how the iPad and the different apps have helped students throughout the years. To add, they also said a popular choice is the 9.7-in iPad released last year.

To take it up a notch: the tech-giant announced a refreshed and more powerful 9.7-in iPad that now also supports the Apple Pencil.

It uses Retina display with 2048×1536 resolution and powered by Apple’s A10 Fusion chip to aid in multi-tasking and graphic needs on the tablet. The tablet’s price starts $329 for consumers while schools can buy it at $299.

And the tablet is available now!!!

Although the Apple Pencil costs $99, there is some good news: Logitech released an alternative called Crayon that’s priced at $49.

On the software front, Apple also announced updated apps for a more engaging experience for students. To name a few: they gave a sneak peak to Smart Annotation for Pages for commenting and editing papers.

Also, bringing Digital Book Creation to the iPad that can be customized by the users with images videos and drawings with the Apple Pencil. The latter can also be shared with others for collaboration. There is Boulevard AR where students can view museums and paintings up close and Froggipedia where everyone can check and dissect a frog without hurting real one.

It’s “more powerful than virtually every chromebook” was said during the presentation (pretty much an answer to the Chromebook garnering 60% of new machines in schools last year vs Apple)

For Shared iPads, students just tap their name and picture on the tablet to open their account. When they log off, the iPad will be ready for the next student who’ll use it.

Another highlight coming from the event is increasing the iCloud storage for every Apple managed ID from 5GB to 200GB!

While the Classroom app for teachers is available on iPad and will be available on Mac as beta in June, there’s also a brand new app called Schoolwork that will be available in June. Here you can place handouts, check student progress and integrate apps like a worksheets.

There was also emphasis on keeping all data private (i.e. only teachers can see the progress). Apple’s passion about security in all their devices was a recurring theme in the event.

This all sounds great! Will you buy one for your child?  Or one for YOU?… it’s still quite hefty price

Not to worry as we’ve got you covered! Our existing screen protector for the iPad 9.7 will also fit the new 2018 model and (like the new model) it’s available now!

As promised, Tech Armor will always have your back! 😉
